My Passion for Coaching

My passion as a coach is helping church planters, pastors and ministry leaders to effectively start new churches. 

I started a church in Castaic, California and pastored for 16 years, and I understand the joys, conflicts, disappointments and often-lonely position of a church planter. It's given me a passion to help pastors who are starting new churches as they face the incredible challenge of engaging those in the culture with the gospel. I'm known as a great encourager and a person who will stick with you through thick and thin. There is nothing more exciting to me than to come alongside a church planter and see that person begin to come alive in the confident, joyful, restful life God offers. Consequently, I love to work with ministry leaders who:

• Are starting new churches and hardly have time to think about all the things to do on their "to do" list.
• Are tired of just "doing" church and are eager to start "being" the church as Christ designed. 
• Are discovering a passion to engage their neighborhood or city with the gospel.
• Want to explore the possibility of starting a new church.

My Background

Let me tell you a bit about me. Over the years, I found that mentoring and leadership development were at the heart of what I was passionate about. After 16 years as a church planter/pastor, I pursued my dream of serving as a missionary and joined OC International's U.S. Ministries Team. I love coming alongside church planters to help them navigate the challenges of starting new churches!

When I'm not coaching, I may be found running, gardening with Deanne, my wife of 22 years, reading and enjoying my wonderful kids, Doug and Madeline.
